Biography
Nancy Wattié, aka NARTY, is a Belgian artist living in France, in Alsace for 7 years. She mainly uses acrylic on canvas to create works that navigate between the figurative and the imaginary, exploring the theme of boats, the sea, the wind and adventure as well as the concept of the gaze, turned towards oneself or others, often embodied by faces - Her technique echoes her artistic approach which favors bright colors, the expression of emotions, and, a rich symbolism - In her studio, which she considers as a private sanctuary, NARTY immerses herself in meditation and spiritual connection to welcome inspiration - She lets the brushes guide the alchemy of her creative energies, producing works that captivate and provoke emotional, and sometimes, spiritual, reactions in the viewer.
