Biography
Veselin Chakarov is a Bulgarian artist born in 1972 in Varna. He is a graduate of Veliko Turnovo University “St. St.Cyril and Methodius " with a Masters in painting in the class of Prof. Alexander Terziev.
His areas of expertise are oil and watercolour painting, illustration, comic book pencilling, inking and colouring. He is a member of the UBA (Union of Bulgarian Artists, Comics Section).
Veselin Chakarov has eight solo exhibitions and has participated in many oil and watercolour painting expositions, biennials of graphic arts, biennials of watercolour, and international comic book projects. His inspiration comes from music, history and literature.
He works in the field of illustration and comic books. Veselin Chakarov also illustrates novels, historical books and encyclopedias for the activities of the Vazdigane Foundation.
These works are presented at the Historical Park in Bulgaria.
In May 2021, he was awarded with a special prize from Veliko Turnovo University “St. St.Cyril and Methodius " – a solo art show at the gallery of the university.
In May 2020, he was awarded 2nd prize in the international exhibition contest "Historical Painting" held by the Historical Park, Bulgaria.
