Colleen Wolstenholme

Biography

Colleen Wolstenholme was born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. She is a graduate of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, with a BFA in Sculpture. She continued on to study at the State University of New York at New Paltz where she received her Masters of Fine Art, specializing in metal and jewellery arts. Her work focuses on the roles of women, pharmaceuticals and technology in society. Her work encompasses a broad range of media including jewellery, painting, sculpture, embroidery and digital collage. Some of her most iconic works are large plaster cast sculptures of pharmaceutical drugs.

Wolstenholme is currently living part-time in Toronto, Ontario while she completes her PhD in fine art at York University. Her project focuses on map making of medieval towns, and creating electronically controlled light sculptures.
