Zhang Hua (1898-1970)

He traveled to Canada and the United States before arriving in Strasbourg, then in Paris in the years 34/35: Parisian years where he experimented with a painting that can be described as lyrical abstract after his long period where he was more figurative in the Canada and New York.

Zhang Hua is a magnificent painter and designer who has produced a very important work in painting and works on paper and paintings on objects such as tables, chairs, violins, boxes, busts of mannequins etc ... In Paris, he settled in Montparnasse (rue Vercingetorix) and met at the workshop of the large cottage the artists of Montparnasse, known as "montparnos" such as Van Dongen, Kikoine, Chagall, Braque, Bissier, Bryen, Tal Coat, Foujita, and other Chinese artists such as Yuliang , Sanyu, Zaowouki, Wu Guanzhang.

he also traveled to Japan in the 1950s to exhibit at the KASUGA gallery (1954) and at the ICHIBANCHO gallery (1956) in Tokyo.

We do not know if he exhibited in France. He died near Lyon in 1970.
