Biography

Reda Abdel Rahman was born in Ismailia, Egypt. He studied at the College of
Fine Arts at the Minya University, close to the setting of the Pharaohs? monuments.

One of the main themes in his workis Joy and he finds inspiration in the riches of the Nile Valley in Egypt.

As many Arab artists, Rada?s depiction of nude women is perceived as a revolutionary gesture.

Through his work, Rada highlights the cultural richness of his country, emphasizing at the same time its need for modernity. Often inspired by the Egyptian mythology, his work took a radically different turn in January 2011. From the first day of the Revolution, he started to produce, on site, a series of watercolors that depict the atmosphere and the context of the first days of the riots.
