Biography
Jean Maurice Silvain is a French painter born in 1956 in Versailles. He lives and works in the Southwest.
Jean Maurice Silvain recurrently approaches the subject of urban landscapes. The geometric shapes, almost cubic, allow him to structure his canvas. The light and shadow occupy a main place in his work, inspiring calm, serenity and positive energy. The mood that emerges from his canvas is relaxing, almost saving. The viewer is force to close his eyes when looking at the dazzling sunsets or the full moon nights. The whole city is bathed in a natural protective and maternal light.
Jean Maurice Silvain works on canvases with acrylics and oïl paint, and favors the use of the knife.
The artist exhibits his work regularly in France since 2011.
