Galith Sultan is a freelance artist photographer who lives and works in Nice.
After studying Fine Arts, she worked for the press before joining the famous Parisian agency Rapho and then the agency Sucré Salé. In parallel to her collaborations with the world of publishing, gastronomy and the music industry, she has produced numerous series with recurring themes of memory, childhood and war.
Among these series: "Soweto in dust, sweat and hope", produced with the support of the French Institute of South Africa and presented at the Grande Halle de la Villette; "From birth to war", presented as part of the Lyon Biennial of Contemporary Art; "Hamburger-frites on the road to Johannesburg", exhibited in the streets of Soweto and Johannesburg, presented in France by the Musée de la Photographie de Nice...
Galith Sultan's work has been exhibited in France and abroad: FNAC Photo Galleries (France, Monaco, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Taiwan...), Rencontres de la Photographie d'Arles, Centre de la Photographie de Mougins, Foires d'Art Contemporain de Nice et de Nîmes, Alliances Françaises d'Afrique du Sud (Port Elizabeth, Durban, Pretoria, Lesotho), Mois de la Photo de Cape Town...
Her photographs have been awarded by the FNAC. They have also been nominated for the HSBC Foundation Award for Photography, for the Leica Oskar Barnack Award, for the Virginia Woman Photographer Award...
Among her publications: Le Monde, Le Nouvel Observateur, Libération, Télérama, Nice-Matin, Le Photographe, Photo, Réponses Photo, Photos Nouvelles, Images Magazine...
Galith Sultan's work is now part of the collections of the FNAC, the Rencontres de la Photographie d'Arles, the Musée de la Photographie de Nice, the University of Lyon I, the B Braun Foundation and private collections.
