Biography

Pauline de Cabarrus is a French visual artist whose practice explores the subtle connections between nature, landscape memory, and living matter. Her work is rooted in a meticulous observation of forest ecosystems, particularly the soil and the invisible layers she describes as a veritable “plant skin,” composed of accumulations, fragments, and successive horizons.

She develops a multidisciplinary approach blending painting, engraving, installation, and ceramics, creating works that question the ongoing transformation of living things and the organic memory of territories.

As an artist-in-residence at the Montagne de Reims Regional Natural Park, she is creating a series of works centered on the forest as an invisible and sensitive space, revealing an underground world laden with history and natural traces.

Her recent work was presented at the “Terres” (or “Lands”) exhibition, organized in 2026 in Ambonnay, where she offered an immersive experience exploring the fragility of forest ecosystems.

Through an approach that is both poetic and scientific, Pauline de Cabarrus is part of a contemporary reflection on sensitive ecology, the perception of landscape and the memory of matter.
