Presentation

Jean-Claude Morchoisne is a French caricaturist, born in 1944. Right from his childhood, he turned the portraits of his family members into caricatures. He studied at the Fine arts school in Orleans and then joined the Pilote magazine. While working as a writer, he met Ricord et Mulatier, and created a series of "Grandes Gueules" portraits with them, which were published on the back of the magazine's cover. The trio then founded their own magazine, Mormoil.

In 1979; the first album of Grandes Gueules appeared, with the Pont-neuf editions. Simultaneously, he created caricatures for Pilote like in 1981, where he created a series of presidential candidates, and each political icon is represented through an animal, published under the title " The great predators".

He took part in various other publications but also did solo exhibitions. In 1987, he published an album with the author Jacques Rampal and draftsman Jean-Pierre Dubouch, called "« Drôle d'état ». He also published his first solo, « Comme des bêtes ».
