Jacek Jan Tarnowski

My journey began when I was 10 years old, in the studio of an artist in Poland, who began to teach me how to hold the pencil as well as the brush...and above all, to see. It was then other Polish artists as well as my training at the Beaux Arts (Toruń, Aix en Provence), which allowed me to deepen my passion. My works are neither abstract nor figurative. I do not define anything, I leave this role to the spectators. I am my subconscious. I express myself through abstract elements, which I make figurative, for an ease of approach, quick and instinctive towards emotion. There is no definite story in my paintings, even if it is suggested by the title. My paintings are filled with emotion, music, dance and rhythm. Calm and serenity.

Jacek Jan Tarnowski was born in Toruń, Poland, in 1966. He arrived in France in 1986. Lives, works and exhibits in Paris.
