Thierry Machuron

Thierry Machuron was born in 1975 in Paray-le-Monial (71 - France). He lives and works in Nevers (France).

Trained in architecture and graduated from the Boulle school, associate professor and senior chair, he teaches design, applied arts, drawing and painting. From nature and on the ground are the modes of expression that he favors, with the main models of experiences and impressions of travel. He has been traveling the world for more than twenty years and brings back images from many countries: Cuba, Tahiti, China, United States, Russia, Europe... drawings and paintings in ink, watercolor, gouache, in oil, on the graphic tablet, on site or back at the workshop. He is the author of a book entitled "Pour le dessin" published in 2020. He is an academic trainer and regularly organizes internships around the practices of drawing and painting in his studio in the countryside.

Independent artist-author, he produces original works, art editions and on commission.

"Travel is the main subject of my work. Painting, drawing, recording to understand, remember, in a more lasting way. All visual, pictorial and graphic forms help me to understand the world, with the desire to visit everything , memorize everything! Academic techniques are my preferred means of expression, always seeking to make tools, colors and "meals" from historical recipes. Discussing practices of expression is finally a vocation, to transmit seems to me fundamental to encourage everyone to look and express themselves in a personal way. Like disseminating an apprenticeship of the gaze".
