Biography
Born in Cherchell, Algeria, Gen is a semi-figurative painter and sculpter who has been exhibiting her paintings and sculptures for 40 years.
She committed herself fully to painting in 1977, and has participated in numerous salons and exhibited regularly in France and overseas (Germany, Canada, USA, Spain, Italy, Switzerland) where numerous collectors have expressed interest in her work.
I was born on the other side where the sun sets into the sea. Then I departed, because departure was necessary, without pleasure, but happy to live.
To take to sea with ones memory, the image of sails comes to mind. Movement, « freedom »… The rhythm is there. It is also there amongst the sun soaked colours of an oriental garden.
Amplify, transcend through memory.
Then evening comes, tones of rose, fuchsia, violet, music, design, the sound of sails moored in the port, set the scene.
Day reclaims its rights, yellow, luminous, burning, intense stands out. The thythm is broken by a white sail, time to rest, to take a « sieste ».
