Nicole Gérard

I draw, paint since early childhood. As a teenager, I attended the Beaux Arts in Caen. Then, I meet a group of modern artists from the New York school. Professional parenthesis: I am a specialized educator and I develop Art Therapy. At the dawn of my fifties, a radical decision: to make up for the lost time of my passion for painting. I register at L Atelier Conta in Caen. THE AM; college of art and media. The courses of the Louvre school at the Museum of Fine Arts.

My painting, rather narrative, evolves towards expressionist figuration. Always with the search for movement, energy, vitality, color and musicality. My favorite themes are dance, parties, crowds and the sea, its regattas, its bad weather. I also want to trigger emotions in the viewer and transport him to an imaginary of his own.

I was lucky enough to be selected among the Artists in Normandy and I won the prize of the city of Caen in 2016. The Demaret gallery in Giverny also exhibited me with the WHO,S WHO art Internationale. Since then I have continued my research, nourishes my intellect in order to nourish my painting.

My work is now evolving towards a more or less figurative abstraction. The movement is always present, it is that of the soul, of feelings, of the impact of life, of passion and can suspend time and from there, perceive, feel, create….
