Biography

Marie Goulard is a French artist residing in the Bordeaux region, freelance for around fifteen years, she has worked in many artistic fields (decorative painting on ceramics, creation of wall frescoes, makeover and upcycling of objects and furniture). Very attracted to portraits and recycled elements, she explores this subject through various techniques (pencil, collage, painting, repurposed objects, etc.), particularly appreciating giving a second life to objects. This artistic path leads the artist to the creation of paintings in microllage of paper, exhibited at the Beauchamp gallery in Quebec for two years and to a new series in the same concept but based on a pointillist style created in paint and upholstery nails . The black and white technique eliminates certain sources of distraction, directly reflects the essence of the subject, highlights timelessness and the resolutely contemporary side. A multitude of points patiently placed one by one to reconstruct a face or part of a body in a pixelated effect for an optical illusion. These paintings are made on medium wood with a frame on the back.
