Genre scene 2.0Frank Efka observes on the one hand the particularities of our society and transcribes them in his painting. On the other hand, he strives to give art back its descriptive purpose through figuration. Using only traditional and "historical" pigments, he describes with the same techniques as the old painters new works where current technologies are omnipresent, with this strong nod to the masters of the 18th century. Born in 1961, Frank Efka studied at the Beaux-Arts before perfecting his skills with masters who shared their knowledge with him. He then devoted himself for a time to art restoration, where he rediscovered Renaissance painting techniques.
