Tiphaine Descamps

Tiphaine Descamps is a graphic designer and art therapist by training. She exhibits regularly in Paris, Lille, Chartres, Casablanca and for the past 9 years every summer on the Ile d'Yeu. She is represented by the Galerie Jal on the Ile de Ré.

Tiphaine combines her family history linked to the textile industry of the North with the agricultural past of Beauce, the region where she has had her workshop for 20 years. She deconstructs old burlap grain sacks to understand their structure, and thus through this process, it is her own structure, her identity that she finds.

Coming from a line of spinners, she recovers in her own way this link with textiles by using them differently, in a light, artistic and poetic way. She uses what already exists, transforms it and finally uses it as a medium. The painting has become a weave of burlap.
