Biography
Catherine Gontcharoff was born in 1958 Multidisciplinary artist, her work has led her to use different mediums, mixing and diverting painting, drawing, materials, object and photography. For ten years digital work and photography have been his preferred means of expression. "There are many sources of inspiration for what exists and which the eye sometimes ignores" confides the artist. His photographs revolve around instantaneous perceptions, interpretations and mixed shots. Equally inspired by places, situations or encounters, the artist interacts with her environment, transcribes and transposes it. In support of black and white, sometimes invested with red or trigger details, his creations are noticed by a sensitivity for all that is suggested by the image, for what appeals to the emotions and impulses of each. Like scenarios or evocative titles, stories are revealed through scenes freely inviting the imagination.
