Biography

Having an interest in images—in what is shown and observed—I took up photography quite late in life. Rather than capturing a literal representation of my
surroundings, I prefer to capture what strikes me, what makes an impact, what unsettles my gaze: unexpected patterns, unusual interplays of light and shadow...

Two tools aid my creativity:
Firstly, the post-processing of images using software. Indeed, my aim is not to show the reality perceived by the majority of us, but to share with others my way of seeing the world and to receive theirs. And my keen interest in printing paper. I love paper, its different textures. The use—I would even say the choice—of each type can alter the atmosphere that emanates from a photograph and enhances the viewer's experience. This is why the medium, this Japanese paper known as 'Unryu' ('cloud blur'), is so important in the creation of
this photographic series.
