Karl. Boo

Faced with a society under pressure, we often feel the need to escape. This desire to disconnect is not a weakness, but a healthy response to an overloaded world. Creation then becomes a safety valve: it allows us to give form to this desire to flee. Focusing on a character who seems to want to break free from the frame offers a moment of respite and mental calm.

Boo is the embodiment of this mental escape. This whimsical little character, my companion for the past fifteen years, was born from an instinctive and liberating gesture. Drawn in one go, in two fluid movements—first the head, then the body—he seems to glide across the paper. This uninterrupted movement gives him a light and organic appearance. His vibrant colors and sharp outlines emphasize his eccentric nature, making him a free spirit, a joyful invitation to drift.
