Michel M. Leclercq

Born in the North in 1954, Michel Leclercq is an art teacher in plastic arts.

His work is in recurrence, he likes to question materials in their originality.

He gathers them and uses them as a pool with which he builds his work.

Wood, stone, metal, glass, bone,... become the basis of a vocabulary.

He likes to dialogue with them: they bring him their history which he confronts with his concerns in a stimulating exchange.

He plays encounters with the materials by questioning their organizations, weight, transparencies, balances. The heavy and the fragile are often put to the test: these tensions question his relationship to the living and the dynamic balances that regulate him.

Small or large, his creations fit in the palm of a hand or invest larger spaces.

Michel Leclercq has been exhibiting in France and Belgium for more than twenty years. His monumental works have been the subject of many public commissions and acquisitions visible in public space and among collectors.

He has lived and worked in Brittany since 1976.
