Anne Saint-Girons

Anne Saint-Girons works in a small village in the Pyrénées Atlantiques, facing the mountains. It is there, in the cozy and warm atmosphere of her wooden house, that she finds the serenity to paint life. It gives birth to a painting with a very personal style, timeless, very drawn, more and more colorful, where the models contrast with the flat areas, where the meanders of lines and curves intermingle. His first aesthetic shock dates from childhood, when he saw a view of Pompeii. From there this thirst for artistic discoveries which will never leave her and brings her very young to be passionate about drawing and painting which she practices assiduously. Her training at the Ecole du Louvre, from which she graduated with honors in Art History and Museology, these years exploring museums left an indelible mark on her. Therefore, we can say that her influences are multiple and abundant, even if it is at the crossroads of the XIXth and XXth centuries that she will make preponderant encounters for her own pictorial expression with artists like Gustave Moreau, Odilon Redon, Auguste Rodin or Gustave Klimt. A sensitive personality, Anne spontaneously takes a very personal look at reality, centered on the problems of being in the world, of links between people, of transmission or of the passage of time. His paintings are on the scale of the individual. Always figurative, they are populated by many characters whose bodies, as much as their faces, reflect feelings and thoughts. To paint, to give birth to beings on the canvas who suddenly come to life: this is his constantly renewed pleasure, his great wonder, his necessity!
