Born on February 6, 1980, in Mâcon (71), Stephane Desmaris has evolved since childhood as a “multi-undisciplined self-taught artist.” It is with figurative painting that Stéphane Desmaris first experiments his creative universe through canvases and drawings in which the symbols of its history intersect, as well as the knots and cogs of its intimacy.
From 2010, he develops a surrealist sculpture project in vine stock (cippus series), inspired by the forms that nature has conferred on them, and gives us to see an imagination where wood becomes a body, or even a piece of a body. , asking the eminently human question of the phantasmal body.
