Biography
Marc Tanguy was born in 1959 in Paris, where he lives and works. His works are present in many collections around the world, where he´s participated in multiple exhibitions. He was a student of Zao Wou Ki during his studies at the National School of Decorative Arts, where he now teaches painting and drawing. His painting is inspired by the figurative tradition colorist represented by Monet, Bonnard, Diebenkorn or Peter Doig: a sensitive recreation of the visible and nature.
Landscape is currently his favorite field of exploration. The boundaries between the image and the painting fade into sensitive and organic abstractions. Atmospheres, lights, colors, touch are manifested in an open poetic space.
