Richard Greneron

The Artist Photographer Richard Greneron was born on March 10, 1966, he currently resides in the Dombes. At the end of 1987, he began his apprenticeship in photography with an evening course at the Rhône vocational education company in Lyon. He becomes familiar with black & white, portraits, street scenes, landscapes, and equips himself with the necessary equipment to develop and work on his photographs. In the 90s, he devoted himself to aerial photography and from this period was born a series of photographs entitled '' In Free Fall '', through which symbolism and graphics come together in a fair balance. In 2001, he moved to Cuisery, a book village in southern Burgundy, where he opened his workshop '' Certain Regards '' to the public. The same year, he joined a Contemporary Art Center “Le Lieu”, and discovered different modes of artistic expression. These meetings will lead to several collaborations and group exhibitions. In 2003, he left Cuisery and opened a new workshop, Place des Arts, in the Abbaye Saint Philibert district in Tournus in Burgundy. He put film aside in 2007 and started working in digital. Sensitive to different currents and movements of photographers such as pictorialism, subjective photography, he turns his back more and more on realism as much as on idealization to create an often mysterious, dreamlike visual universe. Sometimes using surfaces with reflective powers such as glass, water or marble, he composes photographs which constantly oscillate between the paths of reality and the paths of the imaginary. In 2012, he began to work on his shots with image editing software in order to explore new photographic horizons. He occupies part of the year 2014 & 2015 in artist residency, the studio-gallery of 2 in Essoyes (Renoir village) in Champagne where he organizes various exhibitions. To this day, he continues to present and make people discover his artistic approach, this intimate fusion of photography and painting which characterizes part of his work.
