Biography
Karel De Gendre is a French photographer and painter born in Paris in 1959.
After taking Russian courses, Karel de Gendre finally decided to enter the School of Fine Arts of Paris. He was particularly interested in photography and decided to join the Bureau of Audio-Visual Education at the end of his studies.
A few years later, in 1986, he started working as an independent photographer, he started his photography career working as a documentary photographer and worked primarily in the advertising world.
Karel De Gendre is a professional photographer but his true passion remains painting, he considers himself an artist, a creator. He gets his inspiration from several movements ranging from realism and geometric abstraction to surrealism.
As a photographer, he focuses mainly on the urban environment and its characteristics, the viewer can discover the grandest capitals from Paris to New York through his photographs.
As a painter on the other hand, Karel De Gendre uses love as his main subject, a subject he always treats in bright colors and a vivid way.
