Biography

Mitsou has a taste for impertinence, for that quirky humor that brings a smile to our lips. The emotion emerges from the gaze of his dogs, this is their unusual charm. Painting in itself is a freedom for this autodidact, African by taste. Having bubbles between the ears, the taste of astonishment, of the other, of the difference ... At the beginning, it is abstract "This is not a dog". A very academic style wanted, not caricature, is the instrument of a playful score resulting from a long anthropomorphic tradition; Gustave Doré, Jean de La Fontaine, the Puss in Boots, Esop, Ancient Egypt ... give animals human attributes, either by their character or by their costume: jealousy, malice, nobility, impatience ... Today the costume is refined, started with the chef's plain-uniform jacket, the dress loses its playful meaning in itself, hunter or lawyer, to serve only the concept, the Surrealist approach to the animal. Places of permanent exhibition or representation 2017 Galerie Bizeau, Lyon - France
