Between a crowd of artists using paint, gouache or pencil, Valerie Rauchbach?s technique is to "paint" with black volcanic sand; her singular technique and the recent eruption of the volcano in Iceland which has blocked the whole European airspace gives it a special relevance.
This work that gives an essential role to the material started with a series of bulls has been followed of still lives and calligraphies.
For his exhibition entitled "Black Series", Valerie Rauchbach has produced portraits of famous people from all ages.
