SnikTwo is self-taught. A child of the 90's, he listened to rap and hip hop, danced the break, and painted graffiti. In Valence, his hometown, the walls, the skatepark ramps, the abandoned warehouses bear his name. Before, he scribbled in his school notebooks, then he caught the graffiti virus by frequenting graffiti artists in his region. From the paper to the walls, there was only one bomb hit. Graffiti has become his addiction. The flavor of illegality and sharing with the group is certainly a big part of it. Member of several Crews, he made the 400 blows. It allowed him to refine his art, to assert his place. From his first sketches, he incorporated calligraphy into his graffiti. Fascinated by the tag, this signature specific to each graffiti artist, he sought to make his own unique. Experimenting with asymmetry, lettering, contour work techniques, overflowing with imagination, seeking originality, performance and mastery to stand out. Stand out from the crowd. But it is above all the search for aesthetics that guides him. He uses calligraphy, the codes of street art, is inspired by the figures that populated his childhood, to make figurative paintings. From walls to cotton canvases, SnikTwo remains focused on the tag, his obsession. The ritual is always the same, he tampers with his beard in front of his still virgin support. He anticipates, imagines, visualizes. Then, the assault is launched. With frenzy, he repeats his signature, assumes its variations; the gesture assured, he always knows where he wants to go.
