Christian Esctal

France Born in: 1955
Christian Esctal was born in Paris May 2, 1955.

In 1976, then aged 21, he moved to Paris where he held various odd jobs and attended almost compulsively museums, exhibitions, art galleries, and became a regular at auction houses and especially of Hotel Drouot. He and finely shaped his taste and pictorial sense.

At 23, Christian Esctal draws, paints, sculpts and finally joined the domain for which it was made and where it will no longer cease to evolve.

Over the years, he exhibited in various galleries and private places in France and Belgium or e Germany. His paintings will be sold many times by different auctioneers at the Hotel Drouot, instead of his first contacts with the world of art lovers and collectors.

With production as rich and varied as it is rich, Christian Esctal is the ongoing search for the nearest form of expression of his reality.

In the late 70s, despite the absence of real pictorial marks, Christian Esctal embarks on the adventure of creation. It largely uses collage technique; Papers worked in marker before being glued to a canvas accented with acrylic. The tests are sometimes hesitant but leave reflected a strong sense of color and its use in space.

In the early 80s, he began to use the canvas to project his fantasies are, fears and reveal a heightened sensitivity in an irrepressible effervescence and an instinctive spatial organization. Despite the apparent disorder, it is completely structured, the movement is conceived and mastered.

In looking good is a whole world unfolds before the eyes; each painting tells a story where sensuality, eroticism and suffering are everywhere. The 90s marked a creative surge that explores techniques for which all media are an incentive to creativity.

This work marks an evolution in the approach of the artist who joined the playful innocence that breached his childhood universe.
