Biography

Each painting is an experience for me. Often arduous, sometimes happy, but never repetitive. My subjects, abstract or figurative, arise from my confrontation with the canvas. This freedom is also reflected in the materiality of my works because I like to vary the techniques and the supports and, even if I have a preference for oil painting, I sometimes use other types of color: dry pigments, acrylics, inks, colored earths, mineral powder, pencils, waxes and others. My ambition is to raise the expressive potential of color, light and form so as to produce an emotion, positive or negative, that can catch the eye of the beholder. My approach is free from any stylistic framework, although I am very sensitive to the currents of post-expressionism and lyrical abstraction.
