Biography

Billboards Hacker was born in Provence. Passionate about skies and the light at its source, he studied at Atelier des Beaux-Arts in Paris and learned Trompe l’oeil painting at Painting Superior Institute Van Der Kelen in Brussels. He moves to New York in 2003, and start to hack advertising billboards to show some skies about Climate Change. His Artist nickname became evident: Billboards Hacker. In 2010 he is recipient of Art Omi international Artists Residency and then he starts to push it further, making 2000 square feet fake billboards. In 2013 looking to the other side of the spectrum he came with the idea of using the cat, referring to different civilizations where the cat symbolically was already here to protect and watch after the humans. Mixing Trompe l’Oeil and his experience in photography, he starts to do paste ups on lower part of the walls in New York, Paris, Medellin, Athens, Amsterdam, Berlin, Barcelona… Maybe you’ll get the chance to see around the corner of a street, the look of these cats, the look of these guardian angels.
