Biography

Holder of a National Diploma of Plastic Arts prepared at the Fine Arts of Rennes, Guillaume Martin is a contemporary French artist, known for his monumental paintings. Influenced at his beginnings by the Street Art which he still practices, his research gradually evolves into a very personal universe which today presents connections with the works of Neo Rauch, Matthias Weischer and Daniel Richter, representatives of the New School. from Leipzig; as well as with the works of Peter Doig, artist embodying Magical Realism. In France, it is reminiscent of the creations of artists such as Gilles Aillaud, Olivier Masmonteil, or Gérard Garouste.

Beyond the variety of media and techniques, constantly renewing experimentation, we then see unpublished silhouettes scrolling like a gallery of grotesques emerging from the woods, sometimes tinged with absurdity, sometimes with melancholy.

Guillaume Martin lives and works in Brittany.
