Bronze Sculpture for Sale
Philippe Gauberti was born in 1962, in the South East of France, in the heights of Monaco and this influenced the artist to preserve nobility through ethereal sculptures. While studying object design and a training from a welding expert, Gauberti inaugurated metal art, by exploring zinc, chrome, bronze and steel.
His passion for Italian chiaroscuro encouraged him to explore plays on reflection. Like the sculptures of Richard Serra or the anamorphoses of Markus Raetz, works of Gauberti takes the spectator for a stroll and makes him understand the various viewpoints. The perception of the work is modified not at the mercy of the spectator's eye (time setting), but by his footsteps (contemporary time). The frozen material isn't static due to the spectator's viewpoint. The plays on reflections with convex mirrors are like the mirrors of Anish Kapoor. Works of these two artists displays a twisted reflection. Anish Kapoor uses colorful symbols, Gauberti however remains faithful to one color: orange. The Cubiroirs (2012) or even the Odalisks (2014) are like a trompe l'oeil with shining colors.
The stiffness of the material overlaps aerial fluidity, due to the artist's hands as he polishes, melts, welds...His challenge is to surpass the opposites, through subversive strokes and tone down the work. His sculptures get round elegance, harmony and balance.
At the Artoulous'Expo fair, the artist's Odaliks was awarded prix du jury in sculpture and the prix du public.
