She takes pictures in a mostly natural environment, which she then transforms using software ...
She then plays on contrasts and colors to bring out predominantly abstract, almost pictorial images, which invite the viewer to contemplate and especially to wander in the territories of his own imagination, following or not the line of interpretation given by the artist.
What interests Elise Vincent indeed, beyond the aesthetic experience, is the narrativity of the images; how the panel of emotions aroused by a work can allow in connection with our unconscious to invent a whole story and to represent something that is not.
She takes her pictures during “photographic walks" or spontaneously if an element of the surrounding decor catches her attention. Her photographs are produced in series, a few rare visuals exist in isolation. She sees them as small windows to the world our inner universes. And it's an idea that the square format, which she has mostly used since 2017, reinforces.
