Pi and its beginnings

Pi, was born in Troyes, in Aube, on November 14, 1967. Being born into a family of framers, he discovered the world of art very early on, where he met painters and sculptors from the region of Provence and the whole of France.

He then discovered his talent and began to flirt with what would later become his one and only passion: painting. Throughout this learning process, the discovery of different styles and techniques is essential, he begins with classical painting then he adopts a more contemporary style specific to abstract expressionism and pop art.

Pi the medium of the spirit of nature

The experience of cohabitation with so-called primitive peoples of America will allow him to question his anthropocentrist vision of the world, for him man is not the center of the world nor nature is at the service of man. . He learns from these wise people that man and nature are in symbiosis and also learns to meditate, to express, to interpret through his abstractions the messages that nature sends us, Pi with his abstract art becomes a kind of medium pictorial through which the spirit of this nature is expressed. This non-verbal but sensitive language through which man and nature communicate.

Abstraction is therefore a necessary choice to convey what he feels through meditation, and quite simply because we cannot see or touch emotions and sensations, these are difficult to express through figurative art. , it is therefore through his paintings that Pi makes us feel the freshness of the waves, the joy and heat of the sun, the force of the wind, the mystery of the jungle but above all the urgent need to protect it.

A well thought-out technique

Pi's technique is not the product of chance, it was chosen because it best represents Pi's meditations and emotions, his unique way of laying the resin gives these paintings a mat and shiny contrast, on the one hand the visible, thick and shiny material of the resin makes it possible to suggest the cheerful and dynamic character of the painting and therefore of the natural world and on the other hand the multicolored color of the painting without resin makes it possible to suggest the raw character and savage of this same world.
