Biography

Born in Paris, he saw his vocation as a painter take shape very following the discovery of the collection of impressionist paintings of Doctor Viau, the family dentist. His father intended him destined to take over his lace business, he studies in England, without any studies in England from 1901 to 1903. However, upon his return to Paris, he enrolled at the Académie Julian where he frequented the workshop of Jules Lefèbvre and became friends with Roger de La Fresnaye (1885-1925) and Louis Marcousis (1878-1941).
