Gil Kd

GIL KD is a French self-taught artist born in 1964. Her career as an artist began with her grandfather, a draughtsman, and her life as a young adult was influenced by the urban environment of the 1980s when, living in Paris, she made her first experiences in the street with her aerosol cans. Through her journey of creations, exhibitions and artistic performances, Gil KD has found her place and her style. The artist likes to multiply the risks by varying her supports... she passes in turn from white stainless steel or mirror aluminum, to wood, to furniture until the walls or containers that one proposes to her. Her technique is often mixed, mixing spray paint and acrylic, collages of posters collected in the street and salvaged materials, her drawing explores contemporary aesthetics in order to bring out the beauty and strength of the feminine. In her intense universe, passion, sensuality, softness, pain, wounds and fights are mixed and untangled in turn. For her, creation is a language but also a vector of emotions. The materials chosen and used are both the expression of a time and the testimony of a memory or a recollection. ...
