Biography
Artist's name Bigui was born Birgit Deuschle in Oettingen in 1967.
Awarded the Palm Art Award in 2017. Participation in international exhibitions as well as art fairs and art projects.
Her artistic career began in Brazil in 2000 - inspired by the culture, nature and colours.
Bigui worked closely with her teacher and mentor artist Nanci Bastos and developed her own personal style. The richness of nature, the bright sunlight, the overwhelming palette of natural colours shaped and still shape the motifs of Bigui's paintings, her technique and the intense colours of her artworks.
Today, Bigui lives and works as an artist in Germany. Her style has not changed. In her mind, every work of art begins in Brazil, it develops layer by layer, evolving around repetitive objects of nature, bright colours, the spirit of a "new world".
