Biography
1896 Munich - 1954 New York City.
1918-21 Studied at the AdBK Munich with Heinrich von Zügel, among others. Close contact with the Nierendorf Gallery, which dedicated solo exhibitions to the artist in 1933 and 1935, although the National Socialists had defamed his art as 'degenerate'.
In 1938 Scharl emigrated to America via Switzerland.
