Regine Kolle

Regine Kolle was born in 1967 in Cologne. She lives and works between Paris, Kiel and Angers, where she teaches at the École Supérieure d'Art et de Design. A graduate of the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Nîmes in 1993, then a resident of the Villa Médicis in 2000-2001, she is a painter and creator of video and animated films.

Her work is inspired by contemporary media imagery such as music, books, films or advertising. She paints scenes of ordinary life and also refers to various pictorial styles such as abstraction, expressionism, comics…. In her work, she says she draws from "a universe that develops like that of a novel in the process of being written."
