Bronze Sculpture for Sale
I've been hearing the question "Why did you become an artist" for about 40 years now and I still haven't come up with an answer to it.
Artist Sergei Sologub was born in 1957 in Kirovograd, in the former Soviet Union (now part of Ukraine). From 1978 to 1982, he studied at the Sverdlovsk Art College (now Yekaterinburg, Russia), and subsequently at the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) in Moscow (Russia, 1982–1988). Since moving to Germany in 1991, he has worked as an independent artist.
Landscapes, still lifes, technical motifs, and surreal metamorphoses define the pictorial realms of Sergei Sologub. At first glance, they appear full of harmony, opening an ideal world before the viewer, who delights in the precise rendering of subjects and the painterly sophistication of the artistic concept.
Then comes the second look: this presented slice of the world turns out to be an ironic absurdity. The seemingly ideal world is, in truth, completely unstable. Nothing is what it seems, and nothing is certain—especially perception itself.
Sologub is a regular participant in solo and group exhibitions across galleries in Germany, France, the Netherlands, the United States, and other countries. His works are held in private collections, museums, and gallery holdings worldwide.
