Biography

Heinrich Oeltjen-Rüstringen (1889-1961) was born in Wilhelmshaven, Germany. Wilhelmshaven Museum has eleven paintings by the artist. While living in Weimar he is the friend of Klee and Kandinsky. After World War 2 he belongs to the very first and happy few German artists, with the painter Michaelis, to obtain an exhibition in Paris in 1957 where he wins the first Prize au Prix de New York for Art in Paris.
