Marie Claude Maqua-Klein

Born in the Belgian Ardennes, the atmosphere of the woods has always been for me a wild place full of secrets and discoveries.

Deprived of artistic freedom for several long years, I was finally able to give freedom to my desire to express, through painting, what nature gave me when I arrived in Germany. It was my childhood desire.

The years I spent far from my country never made me forget my feelings or my emotions. My time at the ARTFACTORY in Cologne, surrounded by many artists, many exhibitions and many open workshops, was a very nice experience.

I connected contact with my Ardennes, by purchasing an old tobacco shed where I set up my second workshop and where I discovered these beautiful slates, put aside, to which I am now giving a second life with my statues and installations.

I have just left Germany to return to my country and I am very curious about the future.
