MANOLIS PENTES

Manolis Pentes was born on the island of Patmos. He studied journalism in Athens but chose to return to live in Patmos. He is self-taught. He initially focused on figurative paintings and he mainly experimented in landscapes with oils, acrylics and mixed media.
For some time he was also involved in Byzantine hagiography in which he was initiated by Olympiada Vasilaki, a prominent hagiographer from the Monastery of Evangelismos in Patmos.
Gradually, he was won over by abstract painting. Since 2014 he has focused more on the color itself with little to no drawing.

Exhibitions:
He participated in the group exhibition in Patmos on the theme "Water" which was held from August 3 to 24, 2014.
Individual exhibition at the PATMION Cultural Center from August 11 to 21 with works from the years 2015-2016
His solo exhibition at the Auderghem Cultural Center, which took place from April 21 to 30, 2017 with 55 works painted in the winter of 2016-2017.
Personal exhibition in Mykonos from August 11 to 20, 2018.
He participated in group exhibitions in Annemasse in Switzerland and in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil from November 5 to 18, 2018 (Circuit Cafe Culture), where he received the 1st prize, public preference at Annemmasse and the 2nd prize at the exhibition. from Rio de Janeiro.
His works can be found in private collections in Greece, France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Turkey and others.
