Hungary Born in: 1921
François Fiedler was born in Kassa, Hungary in 1921.

At an early age, François Fiedler worked the classic portrait genre and began to imitate paintings of great painters, he joined the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest.

François Fiedler got settled in Paris after his studies, his painting gradually turned into abstract over there. Very quickly, he was able to display his work in individual exhibitions and participated in several Parisian fairs.

When Joan Miro saw his paintings, he decided to present this to a sponsor, gallery owner and friend: Aimé Maeght. Between 1959 and 1974, Derrière le Miroir, a printed journal, through Aimé Maeght's guidance, dedicated 4 of their editions.

François Fiedler isn't only devoted to painting, as he tried engraving for a few years . He quickly discovered the various techniques and difficulties. The artist develops a new process which allows to add a unique thickness to the engraving, a projection with an original "dramatic" strength.
