Biography
Isa Ansory is an established artist from East Java, Indonesia, who believes that painting is an integral part of his life, a need for expression and actualization, as well as a way to explore his own personality. Isa in his initial years of creating artworks, recreated visuals from realistic photography.
Over time he enjoyed the process of experimenting with visual elements that led to transformation in his style to surrealism and even abstraction. Isa takes inspiration from both; inner perceptions (microcosm) and the happenings in the outside world (macrocosm). His artworks based on themes related to social and environmental issues are quite striking and are largely focused on creating awareness and social responsibility.
