Abraham Hadad is a painter born in 1937 in Bagdad, Iraq. He moved to Israel in 1951 and then joined the School of Fine Arts of Tel Aviv in 1956. In 1965, Abraham Hadad settled in Paris where he studied at the National Superior School of Fine Arts from 1965 to 1970.

Despite the violence Abraham Hadad had to face, whether in Iraq or in Israel, all his paintings exude an unexpected gentleness. Human beings play a main role in his paintings, the characters are simply represented, in their intimacy, all in poetry.

Abraham Hadad's work has been exhibited throughout Europe, and some of his pieces are collected by internationally renowned institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art of Paris, the Museum of Art of Taiwan, and the Museum of Tel Aviv.

He was a teacher at the National Superior School of Fine Arts of Paris from 1977 to 2002.
