Tonina Garofalo

Tonina Garofalo attended the painting course, obtaining her diploma, at the International Academy of Fine Arts in Rome (Accademia Delle Belle Arti di Roma) and she was a student of Franco Gentilini, Mino Maccari, Del Guercio, Crispolti. She was a teacher of "Figure drawn" at the State Art School of Cosenza. She lives and works in Fiumefreddo Bruzio (Cs) - Italy. At the Academy, she had among her teachers, who will follow her in subsequent exhibitions, between 1974 and 1977, masters such as Franco Gentilini and Luigi Montanarini that noted "her current artistic knowledge", referring to the painter's inclusion in the most advanced currents of research, especially compositional. Her art was greatly appreciated by the great art critics Giulio Carlo Argan and Maurizio Calvesi.  

The first who noticed the artist Tonina Garofalo was Cesare Vivaldi, recording her arrival "in ways not far from those of very current trends such as the trans-avant-garde". She has participated in national exhibitions and international. Her works are in many public and private collections, both in Italy and abroad. The artist is present in national art encyclopedias and art magazines (IDEA, BOÉ, CALABRIA, LITERARY, CULTURAL EVENTS, CLUBS, SAN PAOLO, CATALOGS NATIONAL EXHIBITIONS, etc.). She has exhibited sacred Artworks in many Churches.
