Biography

Francesco Tammaro was born in Naples in 1939 where he attended the Naples Art Institute, one of the most renowned schools of Fine Arts in Italy. Shortly after graduation he went to France where he lived for a few years.
Tammaro is best known for its quaint views of Paris, famous Paris cafes, interior bistros, and its pastoral picnic scenes on the banks of the Seine.
The artist is now also a guest and invited by the art teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts, who has the ability to awaken in his students the love for an artistic style that seems to disappear, from superficiality and abstraction.
Francesco Tammaro was appointed Academic of Italy in 1978 and won a gold medal from the Italian Academy of Salsomaggiore. This academy also dedicated an entire page of colors to him in The Great Dictionary of Italy.
