His works can be found in the best collections in Italy, France, Switzerland and the USA.
Ennio Tortoli's painting was born from the direct observation of an environmental reality deeply loved by the artist, who transfuses it into his depictions with immediacy, rhythm, and color, in a vibrant articulation of atmospheres.
Attention to the dynamic structuring of forms is one of the salient characteristics of this painter's style, which impresses movement and vivacity on chromatic signs and masses, in a strong expressive tension that effectively seals the changing effects of light and the evocative colorings of the analyzed landscapes and still lifes.
Ennio Tortoli is an important representative of the Labronica School and therefore his pictorial language is distinguished by the prevalence of color over drawing and a type of synthetic application that constitutes a reinterpretation of the Tuscan Macchiaioli tradition. In his works we can appreciate how above all the use of light, always through the tonal values of color, is very scenographic.
As in the paintings of the Macchiaioli, light invades the entire scene, clear and clear and unifying.
The brushstroke, extremely vibrant and dense with color, characterizes the entire composition with great freshness.
